This is exactly what Dubai’s Sole DXB festival is all about. For us it’s a must-attend if you’re in the region… matter of fact even if you’re not — just hope on a jet and be here! After all it is exactly what we are about — i.e. Chanel, Kenzo and Burberry pop-up stores close to an ephemeral Jordan basket ball court surrounded by exquisite food — all of it set to various concerts on a central stage. Every year there’s a host country, last edition was Japan to our biggest contentment and this year is another gem — the land of wood and water in the Caribbean — Jamaica!
You already know it’s mainly about music with us. This year the headliners were the Wu-Tang Clan, *Burna Boy, Black Star and Koffee just to name a few. We were so proud to witness live the new Jamaican sensation — she offered a terrific live performance and the entire crowd felt it! Furthermore, on the art side we loved the photography exhibition produced by Joseph Patel that captured the great spirit of the Jamaican music and its impact.
And for all our “sneakerheads”, the main tent hosted some sneaker swap. Not far from there you could buy your favorite couture pieces. Indeed, Farfetch was definitely one of the great highlights with a concept store that would leave you hungry after shopping over there. I mean our only recommendation is that you don’t miss the next edition. Only negative point is… well… very strange for Dubai but we suffered some showers the entire weekend. To make up for that we still had some real Jamaican brewed coffee.
The showers put aside, it was pure pleasure to be part of this one-of-a-kind festival. So what are you waiting for?! I hope we get to see you for Sole DXB 2020. If you still have questions or would like a hassle-free planning for the festival — hit that RSVP button.
